Description
IoT (Internet of Things) is an abstract technology, which is a name given to all devices which are connected to and controlled through the internet. The combination of biomedical science and IoT has now become a research area of high activity and promise, as a dynamic and rapidly changing domain. It has in turn created a new area of research known as IoMT (Internet of Medical Things), in which several major health specialities now flourish. The purpose of this book is to bring forward the latest research occurring in this multidisciplinary field of IoT in the biomedical sciences. It will detail the impact and effect of IoT within this domain. Expert researchers will be chosen as chapter authors from within both academia and industry in engineering and the biomedical sciences to present the latest state-of-the art within IoMT. Such topics as IoT in telemedicine, biomedical signal acquisition, smart hospitals, wearable medical devices, efficient energy management for wearable devices, will be presented in detail. AI in biomedical devices and biomedical signal security, among other key topics will also be covered. Key Features: Presents a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in IoT based devices in the biomedical domain. Covers IoT based biomedical devices for diagnosis and prognosis of different diseases. Reviews all aspects of IoT i.e. design, security, energy management, etc. in the biomedical domain. Present impact analysis of IoMT devices with different case studies. Design and simulation examples, issues and challenges will be covered.
